Depending on God

"But if it were I, I would appeal to God; I would lay my case before Him. He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted." Job 5:8-9

"With God we will gain the victory, and He will trample down our enemies." Psalm 108:13

I should appeal my case to the Lord - the only One who can truly do something about it. I should expect Him to do wonders and miracles that I cannot even fathom. Through God I gain victory because He tramples my enemies, not me.

Hear my cry, oh Lord. Plead my case before the Father. Do wonderous and miraculous things as You answer, I pray. Be glorified and gain victory, in Jesus' name. Amen.

  1. Is it right to "expect"?

  2. The Lord has already done wonderous and miraculous things in my life, so yes, I believe I can expect Him to do more, so long as they are in accordance with His perfect will for my life. I want nothing but His best for me. My flesh might want to settle and think this is all there is - but my spirit knows better. In my spirit I know that His Word says in Psalm 40:1, "I waited patiently and expectantly for the Lord; and He inclined to me and heard my cry." (NLT) I absolutely believe this. After seeing His hand work often and powerfully in our married life my husband and I took Psalm 40:1-3 as our marriage life verse more than 4 years ago. He has done many wonderous things since then. I choose to wait expectantly on my Lord!
