Shine On!

"Rejoice and be glad... for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you. You are the salt of the earth... You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden... let your light shine before men, that they may see your goodness and praise your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:12-16

When I am persecuted, I am called to rejoice and be glad.
When I am persecuted, I am called to be salt and speak truth.
When I am persecuted, I am called to be light in the darkness.

When things are difficult - at home, at work, at church, among friends - God calls me to remain faithful to His call. Be salt anyway. When someone, some situation or the enemy tries to steal my joy or my hope, I choose not to let my light go out. Some days it feels like just a flicker, but I am called to shine on anyway... and rejoice! For great is my reward in heaven, says the Lord.

Father God, help me to keep shining even on difficult days. In Your precious name, amen.
