Immediate Obedience

"After Paul had seen the vision, we got ready at once to leave for Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the Gospel to them." Acts 16:10 (emphasis mine)

Immediately after receiving a vision from the Lord about going to Macedonia to preach the Gospel, Paul and his companion got ready and went. God spoke. Paul listened. Paul believed what he heard God telling him and acted on it immediately. He acted with immediate obedience, without question or doubt, without hesitation, and without need for a second or third sign that this was what he was supposed to do. In faith, he just obeyed and left the details - the how, what, why - to God.

Father, help me to always be diligent in my obedience. When You speak or prompt, help me to walk in immediate obedience, knowing that any other kind is not obedience at all, and carry out whatever You ask me to do. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
